2026 MTB Provincials Hit Woodnewton

This September, the Durham Shredders open their home trail in Uxbridge for a full weekend of cross-country racing — and a shot at a provincial title.

Mark your calendars: September 11–13, 2026. The Durham Shredders are hosting the 2026 MTB Provincial Championships at Woodnewton, their home venue in the hills of Uxbridge — 15 minutes north of Whitby and under an hour from downtown Toronto. Three days, three race formats, and every category from U11 to Elite and Masters chasing one provincial title.

Woodnewton sits on private trails that open to the public only on race weekends, part of its reputation as one of Ontario's premier race sites. Sandy, well-drained soils and a southern exposure keep the singletrack fast and flowy in almost any conditions — wide-open straights into tight, technical corners, punchy climbs and quick descents that reward riders who pick the right line. The stadium-style start/finish keeps the action close for spectators, with a pump track and skills features right on site.

The weekend builds all the way to Sunday. Friday (Sep 11) brings XCC short-track racing and a Friday-night kickoff. Saturday (Sep 12) stacks the Team Relay Provincial Championships with a Kids Fun Race and the ShredHERS Fest, celebrating women and girls in mountain biking. Sunday (Sep 13) is XCO Championship day across every category, capped by podium presentations. (Course pre-riding opens Thursday and runs through Friday.)
