We are proud to recognize the recipients of the 2026 Devo Bursary: Clare Hauber, Alexa Haviland, Leo Chicoine, and Dylan Kerr.

This performance-driven bursary is awarded to our top-tier competitive athletes who are actively pursuing provincial, national, and international podiums. These riders demonstrate the elite skill, commitment, and work ethic required to compete at the highest levels of the sport. The bursary provides critical financial support for these athletes helping them continue to progress while also serving as leaders and role models within the Shredders community.

Asher Bensimon

Asher loves riding in East Burke, Vermont, where the flowy trails, big climbs, and fast descents make every ride exciting. When he’s not on his bike, he’s planning to join a pickleball club to stay active on rest days. His go-to ride fuel is rice with soy sauce and maple syrup—an easy to eat fuel that tastes great and keeps him energized.

Leo Chicoine

Leo enjoys being part of the sport both on and off the bike. When he’s not riding, he likes trail building and helping shape the trails he rides. His favourite race venue is Mountainview thanks to its technicality and the fact that it’s close to home. Leo says his helmet is his best cycling accessory—keeping safety first on every ride.

Charlotte Caners

When Charlotte isn’t riding her bike, you can often find her cross-country ski racing in the winter. Her go-to ride snacks are fig bars and sour candy—quick energy that keeps her moving on long rides. One of her favourite cycling accessories is her Garmin radar light, which helps keep her visible and safe on the road.

Alex McCabe

Alex’s favourite place to ride is Sentiers du Moulin, where the techy rock slabs mix perfectly with fast, flowy bike-park style trails. His favourite race venue is Mont-Sainte-Anne, a course he loves for both the challenge and the incredible race atmosphere. On rest days, Alex enjoys getting outside for a hike or going rock climbing.

Finnley Cureton

Before a ride, Finn fuels up with his homemade carb mix to make sure he has all the energy he needs for training. One of his favourite places to ride is Brevard, North Carolina, where the terrain ranges from bike parks to large rock slabs. When it comes to racing, PEI stands out as a favourite thanks to its exceptional course and a well-run event.

When it comes to fueling rides, applesauce is her go-to snack because it’s quick, easy, and simple to eat on the go.

Grayson Jewiss

Before races, Grayson sticks to white rice as his go-to pre-ride meal because it’s easy to make, high in carbs, and part of a routine he likes to follow. His favourite place to ride is Brookvale Bike Park in PEI, thanks to its wide variety of unique and fun trails unlike anywhere else. Dieppe in New Brunswick is his favourite race venue—not only for the great course but also because it’s a fun place to watch and hang out during race weekends.

While she loves visiting new trail systems, she always enjoys returning to her home trails at Woodnewton and Dagmar, where the newer trails at Woodnewton let her practice skills like gap jumps. A fun fact about Clare is that the Durham Shredders have been the only team she has ridden for throughout her entire time as an athlete.
